Random Thoughts:A tribute to the "Everyday Heroes"

The words "Common/Ordinary" are very deceptive. Thanks to them, in day to day life, we tend to miss out on quite a few interesting/inspiring (other positive adjectives....) things. I once read a quote which said "Life is the greatest teacher to those who are sensitive enough." How true!! How true!!

When I look around and start observing the lives of people more carefully, it sometimes fills me with awe at the extra ordinariness of each life. And I see that it is one of the fine fabrics that holds society together. I do not know if "behind every successful man there is a woman", but what I see for sure is that "Behind every successful man/woman there is someone else whose life has been a constant sacrifice for the same."
The people who due to their economic status are generally looked down upon are actually "Heroes", from whose life we can draw much inspiration. A cobbler who mends our shoes, a sweeper who cleans the streets, a vegetable vendor who takes his cart around, a maid who works in houses.......", and so goes the list. What is the income that these people get?? But still they sustain a family with the same. A father/mother in such families might wear torn clothes, slippers with holes... might sleep on an empty stomach, might never spend a pie on any of the things they otherwise might desire to buy... and on goes the list of sacrifices. And all this, so that their kids might have a better present and consequently a better future. And this sacrifice is not for a day or two, but for years and sometimes a whole lifetime. But never do they curse their situation. They silently go about bearing the difficulties that life has in store for them. They live their lives through the lives of their children!! And is this a lesser sacrifice in any sense... Not at all.
And we don't have to go far to find such people. We just need to look around and Lo behold, they are everywhere.
Of course people have their weaknesses and negative sides!! Who does not? Every gram of Gold is got by sieving tons of soil. But we do not bother much about the soil, since our interest is in the Gold.
Similarly, when we are ready to get inspired/learn we need not go looking for "Famous" people (as is the wont now), but every "Ordinary" life around will reflect the "Extra ordinariness" in them.
This post is a tribute to all those "Daily Life" heroes around.

Cheers,
